Back to the basics

Mentor Gashi

Once in a while, you do or are forced to return to the basics. Doing so refreshes your perspective, reminding you how it all started and where you are now.

It is refreshing, because it solidifies the basics that we often think, there is no hope or future on them anymore.

How I went to this maze of thought is a weekend favor to a family relative. Which was a basic static site to get starting a thing on the side for them.

The goal was, pick a seo friendly domain, choose the right keywords, description, social graph meta tags, a few paragraphs, contact information, and just deploy.

I went with Cloudflare, which requires an account and optionally wrangler either globally installed or just in that project. Finally hitting wrangler deploy ships whatever you lay on the public folder.

Unlimited bandwidth for a static site is all you need. Sounds untrue? Check it out: here.

You might think that also dealing with dev tools is consuming or so. Again, the minimum requirement would be having an account, navigating the UI to create a page gives you also the option to drag-and-drop your static files at no cost, build time, or dev tool.
